The Wood family bought Winash in 1973. They lived and worked here, providing on-site care as and when residents needed them, 24 hours a day.
50 years later, Winash is managed by Heather, the second generation of the family to manage and own the business. During that time, we have built relationships within the community. We’re trusted to care for families’ loved ones because we take the time to get to know each person, and their family relationships.
We make it our family business to care for your family.
You’ll be part of an inclusive community and you’ll have opportunities to engage in a fulfilling and rewarding way of living. We’ll preserve your independence and treat you with dignity and respect at all times.
We offer permanent and respite care as well as day care places, contact us for more information or to book your show round appointment.
Nestled in the old Victorian area of Clevedon, you’ll be able to pop to the local shops, cafés and parks. The seafront is just a short walk away to enjoy the peaceful sea views and historic pier. Our gardens are available to all residents and you can spend sunny afternoons relaxing or tending the raised vegetable beds if you like.
Tom Sharp2022-02-10 My family spent a long time trying to find the right home for my gran and I am so grateful we found Winash. Moving down from Hull was a big upheaval for her but the minute we walked into Winash we just felt it was right. There was a welcoming atmosphere when we arrived which helped put us at ease and we were given a tour by the staff who, in some cases, have been there for over 20 years. The facilities are excellent and choice and independence are clearly promoted. My gran made many friends at Winash and had a beautiful room overlooking the tennis club. I would recommend Winash wholeheartedly to anyone considering making the move into residential care. The care has been outstanding and extremely effective in giving my father a chance to live his life in a happy and secure environment. Thank you Winash, keep up the good work! Paul O-C. Alan Place2014-09-06 My mother, Mrs D. Place, was recently admitted to the home. The extended family made numerous journeys to see my mother in her final days. It is always heart breaking to see your loved ones at the end of their time, but I can say -- hand on heart -- this is a lovely home. The staff are always cheerful, and polite, and you get the feeling they love working there. I couldn't have wished for kinder people to be with my mother, when she passed away on Friay, Sept 5th, 2014.Load moreGoogle rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 4 reviews
“My mother was very independent, and it was a worry when she had to move from her home into Winash. The staff were very understanding and gave her the space and support to adjust to this great change in her life. It didn’t take long until she felt at home and comfortable in her surroundings, so much so that she would say ‘now you can take me back to the hotel’ when she was out with us. Living in a foreign country I never felt far away from my mother with the good and clear communication from all members of staff, which gave me great peace of mind. I will always be gratefully for how accommodating everyone was to make my mother’s final days as calm and respectful as anyone could wish for.”
“Winash was recommended to us as having a stable base of caring and experienced staff, who would have the right balance of skills to meet our relative’s overall needs. After just over a year, she is the happiest in herself that she’s been for a very long time. Thankyou to all at Winash.”
“Mum has been a resident at Winash for almost 5 years. We think the staff are amazing and Mum says the food is so good. The Queen sent her a birthday card during Lockdown and the wider family were able to Zoom with her on the Great Day! A huge Thankyou to ALL the team at Winash for keeping Mum happy and comfortable”
“A heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Winash for looking after my mother so well in the last years of her life. It was particularly difficult for everyone during the lock-downs, but what made it a bit easier, was knowing that mum was well cared for. The staff did everything they could to keep mum occupied, and us in touch with each other through zoom and later over the garden wall and in the specially built ‘pod’. Mum loved the staff at Winash and had nothing but praise for them. She truly saw Winash as her home because she was so happy there.”
